Benjamin & Sarah grew up in similar circles with a lot of the same friends, but just never met. They were actually friends on Facebook too, but never communicated.
In Fall of 2024, Sarah made a Facebook post about her dream to have a big farmhouse with animals and lots of children. Benjamin saw that post and thought, “I like that dream too. Maybe I can be a part of it.”

Then, in November, Sarah posted a countdown to her upcoming birthday and Benjamin finally commented. And the communications were just getting started.
Sarah was initially clueless to his intents, but her mom was clued in quite early. Things like him offering to fix her car for free and coming out to help us with baking and cooking a big meal because “he wants to learn how to cook” were giant neon lights to what he was thinking. And if there had been any remaining doubts, they were gone after she jokingly said, “You better be careful. If you keep coming out here so often, it’ll become a habit.” To which he quickly replied, “Oh, that’s the idea!”
When Benjamin finally got the nerve to ask her dad for permission to date her, it was in Dad’s garage. This made things a bit more intimidating as “there we so many things he could have used as a weapon if he didn’t like me”. But, he eventually relaxed, ask the question, and got his permission.
Their first date was Thanksgiving Day, which also involved them meeting each other’s family too. (Can you guess which family was crazier?) They continued dating and carved out time to see each other as often as possible. It wasn’t long before they were already talking marriage and future.

On April 4, 2025, Benjamin took Sarah for a walk on his family’s beautiful land. They paused on a bridge and that’s when he proposed marriage to her. Obviously, she said yes!
Benjamin works in the service shop at a local car dealership, as well as, being a “shade tree mechanic” on his days off. Sarah works at a daycare and also intends to restart and expand her baking business once they are settled into married life.
They will initially live in an apartment in OKC. (The same complex his parents first lived in 35+ years ago.) They plan to save up money to eventually buy their dream house on a farm with nearly as many children running around as chickens.
